Application requirements for arts, culture and sports

Arts and Culture

  1. The request for an opinion must come from a foreign national who identifies himself as a professional artist, that is, a person who creates or practices independent artistic activities as his or her main occupation, is recognized by his or her peers as a professional artist, and whose works or performances are publicly exhibited at recognized events or venues and for which he or she is compensated. This person may be located in Quebec or abroad.
  2. Applicants must have worked professionally for at least 5 of the last 7 years in one or more of the following artistic fields: circus arts, multidisciplinary arts, digital arts, visual arts, comics, songwriting, film and video, dance, literature and storytelling, arts and crafts, music and theatre.
  3. To be considered an exceptional talent, applicants must be outstanding in terms of the quality, quantity and originality of their artistic work, their contribution to their field of expertise and their national and international impact.
  4. Provide a portfolio, media coverage and industry references to demonstrate the international impact of their work. Application materials include images, audio or video material, text, web links, etc. It is important to select outstanding works or excerpts of works to demonstrate the excellent quality of the artist's work within the time limit; the press kit should focus on comments and articles published or heard by major domestic and foreign media.

Sports Application Requirements

  1. Can contribute to the world of Quebec sports and have outstanding talent.
  2. Be in good health and have the desire to stay in Quebec and pursue a sports career.
  3. The candidate must demonstrate motivation, exceptional talent and significant achievements to contribute to the Quebec sports community.
  4. Make a 3-minute video introducing the candidate's exceptional talent to the Quebec sports community.
  5. A document proving the applicant's athletic ability, certificates, diplomas, etc., provided by the applicant.
  6. A copy of the results of an assessment (e.g., a psychological assessment or other assessment) that demonstrates the applicant's exceptional talent and potential to contribute professionally to the Quebec sports community.
  7. One or more letters of support from the Quebec, Canadian or foreign sports community attesting to the applicant's exceptional talent and qualities.
  8. A written professional development plan that demonstrates the applicant's long-term vision for contributing to the Quebec sports community.
  9. A medical examination (last 6 months).
  10. Other relevant documents that the applicant deems necessary.
  11. If your achievements are on the Quebec list of achievements, you do not need a letter of support from a professional organization.
